What to expect

It is common for a patient to be unaware of what to expect from pelvic health physiotherapy appointment.

An initial appointment is usually ~60 minutes long to allow sufficient time, and allows you and your physiotherapist to connect.

We are dedicated to ensuring you leave your first appointment feeling educated, strong and empowered regarding your concern.

Listening

We will discuss your symptoms, relevant history, past experiences and goals. The more you share, the more I can help in a holistic and comprehensive way. Every person is unique, and you will be approached in this way.

Your story, concerns, history and goals are individual to you and your physiotherapy management will reflect this.

Assessment

Depending on your concern, an assessment is a helpful aspect of an appointment. It allows your physiotherapist to combine your story with your clinical presentation.

Your physiotherapist will discuss all the options for assessments specific to you and inform you of all the risks and benefits. You have a choice in your assessment, your informed consent is important.

Treatment

You will be provided with education and treatment options specific to your goals.

As your symptoms improve, or your due date approaches, we will adjust your management plan to meet your needs. We stop treatment when you want, or when you feel you are back to feeling your best.
